The book is in very good condition with a detailed inscription dated Christmas 1939 plus an address written on the inside of the front cover page. There is bumping and wear to the top/base and edges of the spine and corners. There is wear and loss/tears to the fore-edge of page 11/12 (as if the page has been pasted in the wrong way round and subsequently removed) and a tear to the fore-edge of pages 149/150 and 151/152.
A scarce early version of this timeless classic book.
